Burned body found on road. Charges against priest changed. Archbishop "begs for forgiveness"

The 60-year-old parish priest of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish in Przypki, Tarczyn commune, was charged on Friday with the murder of his 68-year-old colleague. However, a day later, the prosecutor's office announced that the charges had been aggravated to murder with particular cruelty.

Priest suspected of murder. New information.

The prosecutor's office also revealed that the detained priest pleaded guilty. He is responsible for the death of a 68-year-old man whose charred body was found on a road in the Masovian Voivodeship. It turns out the priest was supposed to provide lifelong care for a man he knew and, in exchange for a donation, arrange a place for him to live. The conflict arose when they couldn't agree on suitable accommodations.

Aneta Góźdź, spokeswoman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Radom, revealed on Saturday that on July 24th, the priest met with the 68-year-old to discuss choosing an apartment in Warsaw. The men had known each other for about 25 years.

"An argument ensued. The suspect indicated that, in an attempt to de-escalate the situation, the two went for a drive. They stopped at a random location, got out of the car, and continued talking about the apartment. When emotions became intense, the suspect pulled out an axe and struck the victim, who fell to the ground. He then stabbed him again, doused him with gasoline, and set him on fire," prosecutors said.

The parish priest confessed. The archbishop begs for forgiveness.

During questioning at the prosecutor's office, the parish priest admitted his guilt and expressed remorse. Commenting on the matter, Archbishop Adrian Galbas of the Archdiocese of Warsaw wrote in a statement that he was "devastated and devastated by the news."

"I ask all priests of the Archdiocese of Warsaw to begin their personal penance and prayer of expiation today," he urged in a statement. "This coming Sunday, let us do this together – after every Holy Mass throughout the Archdiocese. The blood of our murdered brother cries out to God. Let us beg God for forgiveness – and let us beg people for forgiveness. I myself beg for this," he emphasized.
